Safeguarding Children and Young People Statement

Our Safeguarding Children and Young People policy covers the Leicester Church of Christ who meet at 9 Sanvey Lane, Leicester, LE2 8NG


The implementation and application of this policy applies to ministry staff, children and youth ministry leaders, children and young people (a person who has not yet reached their 21st birthday).


The Church has a growing children’s and youth ministry. The Leadership take seriously the Church’s responsibility to protect and safeguard all children and young persons entrusted to its care.


We recognise that all children and young people should be valued, safe, treated with respect and listened to.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children and young persons and recognise that safeguarding children and young people is everybody’s responsibility.

We are committed to supporting parents and families in the care of children and young persons.

We are committed to following agreed procedures and following statutory and safe working practice guidelines (including the recruitment of workers, their training and support and the reporting of any abuse).

We seek to support all in the Church affected by abuse.

We review this policy annually.
